Querying is hard. There is so much research involved and sending your manuscript out to agents can feel like mailing someone your beating heart.

I don’t want every writer reinventing the wheel — so I’m sharing the color-coded query tracking spreadsheet that I used to track which agents I went out to (including a link to their bio and agency website), what their response timeline was (in case I wanted to send a follow up ping once that had passed), what their query requirements were (query letter, 3 chapters, synopsis, etc.) and a QueryManager link or email to where to submit. When I had my materials ready, all I had to do was go into the spreadsheet, click the links and research I’d prepped, and boom! Submitted.

I’ve included an example from my first ever novel’s journey on the right. You’ll see that there’s a lot of red, but have hope! Your journey is just beginning.
